Famous B-17 Liberty Belle crashed this morning in Illinois
by james_woods inhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/13/b-17-bomber-crashes-in-il_n_876008.html.
this plane was one of the few flying fortresses still in operating order and was scheduled for an airshow next weekend.. pilot reported a fire on board, could not make it back to the field, and had to put it down in a cornfield.
all 7 persons on board escaped, but the aircraft is a total loss..

Speaking from my own perspective, as someone who would never have been suspected to ever go apostate, I'd say the parable of the Faithful & Discreet Slave is something to question. If someone would have asked me years ago why the this doctrine is more than a parable and is prophetic in nature, I wouldn't have been able to answer it, and you know what? I wouldn't be able to answer that question now because its indefensible. The WT's literature has never made a reasonable effort to answer why its prophetic as opposed to simply an illustration.

Fascinating post, Gary. It's almost like your wife is in the middle of a Civil War, with herself. Between her alliance of common sense along with love, versus her sense of duty with its alliance alongside fear. I don't recall it being written anywhere in WT literature that purchasing candy on sale during the holidays is tantamount to celebrating those holidays. I could be wrong about that, but I think this is another example of the group herd dictating policy on off label matters to the point that any thinking individual would feel compelled to fall in line regardless of the evidence that supports their unique stance. The funny thing to me is that the companies that sell candies at discounted rates during holiday season, do so primarily for a profit, or at least as an lore to get you into the store and purchase other products. The companies could care less whether you celebrate the holiday or not, they just want you to buy their candies. Same with holiday hams and turkies, yet some JWs will still feel guilty which says more about the individual JW than it does the publishing company because I don't recall them ever publishing something that mandates a JW neglect purchasing such items on sale during those seasons.

Even though this guy's credibility is questionable, I've always believed the US goverment is supressing cures for cancer. I'd venture to say the same with HIV/AIDS. This country is about greed, money, power, and the powers that be in this country could care less about their fellow man. I forget who said it, and also the exact way it was stated, but capitalism is home based colonialism. That being said, the most unscrupulous people in this country are your Wall Street types and politicians. There's more money in people being sick with supposedly incurable diseases, than there is with a healthy population.
It's the same with the prison system and the so called war on drugs in this country. That cocksucker Ronald Reagan and that whore he was married to, along with like minded people, could care less about the druggies in this country getting help. Rather, they've created an entire prison based industry on drug addicts. The Crack Laws which stipulate higher sentencing as opposed to the lower sentences recieved by those convicted for cocaine related offenses, is a classic case of population control and how to screw one demographic of people, while being more lenient towards your "own people" if you catch my drift. The more people in prison, creates more income and work for correction officers, more money for the construction of prisons, lawyers, prosecutors, judges, the whole system is designed to make money off a problem, rather than to correct the problem. It's the exact same thing when it comes to a cure for cancer or HIV. This country is beyond the pale horse and then some.

"...in case of an attack on the buses by Angry Christians..." Atheists sue
by Rabbit into me...the following story exemplifies why freedom of speech is so important.
people should be exposed to differing ideas & beliefs for their own good.. my comment is highlighted below, it's funny, sad & i realize...not representative of most christians.
(most, i believe will think about it, but, not act on it) .

Something I don't get is, if that's public transportation, then why are religious ads posted on the buses in the first place? Is that a private bus company, or city owned?
As far as those "good Christians" in the Bible Belt acting up, that's nothing new. They're the true antiChrists when you think about it.

This thread just brought back a memory, from when I was in middle school, I think 7th grade to be exact. The one history class I had, the teacher had us doing dances like hoedowns and other folk dances. The teacher paired me with this girl named Tiffany. I kept trying to cop a feel while we were up close and personal. You know how the one dance, you're facing each other with one hand holding your partner's hand over the head, and the other hand is chest high. I kept moving my chest high hand towards her chest, trying to cop a feel. She kept moving my hand back like, "know you don't, ya perv!!!" Ohh those middle school memories.
I don't ever recall witnessing JWs dancing provocatively. Too many grownups around, chaperoning to ever allow dancing to get out of hand. The fact that there are WT articles on this subject tells me its happened more than a few times.

In the new system of things, everyday will be like working at camp. Playing with the animals, satisfying work, polo shirts, and perfect conditions. Too bad none of you will come back to Jehovah long enough to enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is your standing in a congregation if you're a man of 40 and never married?

I was like you all should worry about yourselves. To be Jehovahs people they both had ALOT of skeletons in the closet, lol
LOL, Ha!! So many like that. When I got appointed, and then started finding out what was going on in the congregation, I was flabbergasted!!!! I'm not saying the whole congregation, or even the majority of it was a cesspool, cuz it wasn't that bad. However, there was enough people with situations going on, or had situations in the past, where it left me scratching my head like, how'd I get into this mess? Thinking back, all the people in my age bracket that came of age in Da Troof, and most left the religion entirely. I might see them occasionally at a special talk, or convention, or mehmorial(I spelled it right), but they're doing that for their families, mostly their parents. Of the ones that stayed, like myself, plenty of them have the rockiest marriages. Terrible marriages, and my dad always told me that some of the worst marriages he's ever seen were in this religion. The ones with their noses in the air, Mr. and Mrs.Spiritual, often have the coldest relationships behind closed doors.

Many of the single sisters were looking for a free meal ticket, and most of them were as ugly as sin.
